With innovative ideas and a purposeful plan to revive the economy of Deir Ezzor Governorate, a team of young people opened the city’s first digital marketing center and began working in all forms of advertising.
DeirEzzor24 Network met with Mohammed Shahitan, the team’s founder, who began his career at the age of eighteen as a video producer (editor) for pages outside Syria. Mohammed said he was inspired by ideas from neighboring countries in the field of digital marketing, and began developing himself and working with a very simple Grand Prime phone. He was able to convince companies outside Syria that he was a professional in computer editing.
Despite the simplicity of the tools, Mohammed explained that the work consumed a great deal of his effort and energy, as tasks that could be completed in an hour were completed in two or three hours, ensuring excellent results.
Mohammed continued talking about his experience in digital marketing. He said that after his success as a freelance producer and his adoption of ideas from other countries’ experiences in marketing and editing, this encouraged him to open a comprehensive center for digital marketing, editing, photography, and event organization, called Zoom Media. He was joined in this project by a number of his friends, who supported him financially and morally, especially since they share the same skills and ambitions to develop their capabilities and employ them in the job market.
Mohammed stated that one of the most prominent challenges they face is the lack of conviction among most residents of Deir Ezzor Governorate regarding the importance of online marketing and their continued reliance on traditional methods. He added that he hopes their work will contribute to raising awareness among the governorate’s residents about the importance of digital transformation in this era.
Mohammed indicated that he presented his project idea as part of an entrepreneurship training program organized by the United Nations Development Programme’s “Youth Empowerment” project. He successfully passed the interviews and gained the committee’s support, which qualified him to receive partial funding that encouraged him to open the center.
The Zoom Media Center opened in early 2025, and the team began working even before receiving full funding. They managed Facebook pages and activated bots, including the “Beit Al-Aila Institute” page in Deir Ezzor. They also launched advertising campaigns in collaboration with the team, reflecting their enthusiasm and determination.
These pioneering projects are a building block in the construction of modern Deir Ezzor, powered by the constructive ideas, capabilities, and talents of Deir Ezzor r’s youth. These projects will contribute to the future development and modernization of the governorate.
