Syrian Civil Defense teams affiliated with the Emergency and Disaster Management Directorate in Deir Ezzor Governorate extinguished two fires that broke out in agricultural lands in the governorate’s countryside, and were able to control them and prevent the fire from spreading to neighboring lands.
The Civil Defense explained that the first fire broke out in a land planted with wheat crops in the village of Jarwan, which led to damage to about 100 square meters of agricultural land, before teams were able to extinguish and control it.
In a separate incident, another fire broke out in a haystack on agricultural land in the village of Al-Saawa, damaging an area estimated at about two dunams.
Civil Defense teams confirmed their quick response to the two fires, which contributed to reducing losses and preventing the fire from expanding to additional areas, amid repeated warnings of the dangers of agricultural fires as temperatures rise during the summer.
