On Sunday, November 22, two landmines exploded near the train track in the area between the SDF and Assad forces in Khsham town in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside, according to Deir Ezzor 24 network correspondent.
The correspondent reported local sources, saying that there are a lot of mines in this area. During the past month a large number of them exploded, some on their own, leaving four children injured, two of whom died and the others suffered amputations.
The sources added that the residents of the area have demanded the SDF more than once to address the issue of these mines, which have become a real threat to the population, but the response was that the area is “sensitive” because it is close to the areas controlled by Assad’s forces, and that it is the international Coalition, that can decide about it.
The mentioned area is located near the base of Conoco gas plant, which is one of the largest bases of the international coalition in Deir Ezzor.
