On July 27, 2019, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) carried out a security operation in Abu Hamam town, targeting Daesh elements responsible for the attack on the town’s market on July 7, which led to the killing of three children.
Several Daesh fighters were captured, and 8 RPGs, more than 7,500 AK-47 rounds, dozens of grenades, radios and mobile phones were seized.
During the operation, a fighter of Daesh opened fire on the Syrian democratic forces, who responded to the fire and managed to kill him, without any reports of casualties among civilians.
In the same operation, some of those associated with Daesh were also arrested.
It is noteworthy that Daesh cells are still active and carry out military operations in different areas of Deir Ezzor countryside which are under the control of the SDF.
