Yesterday, Saturday, Daesh launched a large-scale attack on positions of the Assad’s forces and the Iranian militias in the vicinity of Al-Mayadeen city in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside.
According to local sources, the attack affected military posts of Assad’s forces near Ein Al-Ali area in Al-Mayadeen city, in addition to a similar attack on military positions near Al-Rahba castle.
The sources indicated that there were deaths and injuries among the Assad’s forces as a result of the clash between them and Daesh elements, adding that the wounded were taken to private hospitals in Al-Mayadeen city east of Deir Ezzor.
The Assad’s forces shelled Al-Mayadeen city, using rocket launchers in an attempt to prevent Daesh from advancing in the area.
It is indicated that over the last few days, Daesh has carried out four attacks on the Iranian militia positions, without making any progress in the region.
