Maintenance and rehabilitation works of the new Deir Ezzor-Al-Mayadeen road begin to enhance safety and commercial movement

The branch of the General Corporation for Road Transport in Deir Ezzor Governorate, in coordination with the branch of the Syrian Corporation for Building and Construction, began maintenance and rehabilitation work on the new Deir Ezzor – Al-Mayadeen road, with the aim of treating the affected parts of it and improving the level of traffic safety, given its vital importance in linking the governorate center to the city of Al-Mayadeen, all the way to the city of Albukamal and the Iraqi border.

The Director of the General Corporation for Road Transport branch, Abdul Karim Al-Kheder, explained that the rehabilitation work is being carried out in accordance with the contract concluded with the Syrian Corporation for Building and Construction, and includes skimming and rehabilitating the damaged asphalt layers, which contributes to improving the situation of the road and raising its traffic efficiency.

Al-Kheder pointed out the strategic importance of the road, as it is one of the vital axes linking Deir Ezzor Governorate to the eastern regions and the Iraqi border, in addition to its role in stimulating commercial movement and facilitating the transport of goods and travelers between Syria and Iraq.

These works are part of the efforts aimed at improving the service conditions and rehabilitating the infrastructure in Deir Ezzor Governorate, which enhances the safety of road users, supports the smooth flow of transportation, and contributes to stimulating economic and commercial activity in the region, within the framework of the work plan scheduled for the current year.
