The new commander of the Iranian al-Quds Force, Ismail Qani, secretly visited Al-Bukamal city east of Deir Ezzor last week, the Iranian Tasnim news agency reported.
Qani’s visit, according to the agency, is the first of its kind for a battlefield after succeeding Qassem Soleimani in the leadership of the Iranian al-Quds Force.
It is worth mentioning that the Iranian Tasnim news agency has deleted the report of “Qani’s” visit to Al-Bukamal city on its official website just one day after posting it, without explaining the reasons, although it included statements by “Qani” about the visit.
It is noteworthy that Tehran pays great and special attention to the Syrian-Iraqi border city of Al-Bukamal, which can clearly be seen through the Iranian generals’ visits to the city and controlling it through the Revolutionary Guard militia since late 2017.
