The leader of the Syrian Hezbollah militia affiliated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, “Tariq Yassin Al-Mayouf” known as “Abu Aqil”, moved his service center to the city of Al-Qusayr in Homs, hoping for the temptations offered to him, in addition to the spread of human and drug smuggling operations to and from Lebanon, and the facilities provided to militia members of the Revolutionary Guards in the city of Al-Qusayr, within the policy of demographic change, which facilitates them to own land and real estate and grants them the Syrian citizenship.

These events come in the context of the diminishing Iranian influence in the Assad regime enclave located east of the Euphrates, in the area between the towns of Al-Husseiniya and Al-Tabiya Jazira, in favor of the Russian influence adjacent to the American influence in the SDF-controlled areas.

Al-Mayouf hails from the town of Hatla in Deir Ezzor, and he is the son of the Shiite religious authority and the second man of the Shiites in Deir Ezzor and is considered the field commander of the Shiite fighters in Hatla, as Hatla is considered the most important center for spreading the Shiite sect in the region.
