A state of tension in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor against the backdrop of Abu Rawan impounding cars for the people of Al-Masrab at the Al-Shamitiya crossing in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, according to a DeirEzzor24 network local reporter.
According to the reporter, the process of detaining cars caused the merchants to lose the loaded materials, which angered the merchants and a group of residents.
Notables from the region warned of attempts by Abu Rawan to cause strife to enable Iranian-backed militias to enter the areas of the western countryside of Deir Ezzor controlled by Assad’s forces and the National Defense Militia.
Abu Rawan comes from Al-Shamitiyah, and was previously subjected to two arrest attempts due to his suspicious actions. He recently took over the management of the smuggling crossings in cooperation with the Fourth Division at the river crossings west of Deir Ezzor.
