Deir Ezzor 24 exclusive:
Sources confirmed to Deir Ezzor 24 network that a few days ago, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard militia began to establish a military base for its forces on the road between Al-Bukamal city and the al-Kam oil terminal east of Deir Ezzor.
The sources confirmed that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard brought prefabricated buildings and dug trenches around the new military base near Al-Bukamal city.
The sources noted that the base will be just for the official Iranian forces, while the Iranian-backed militias in Deir Ezzor province will not be allowed to enter it.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard militia deployed its military armoured vehicles at Al-Kam oil terminal and around the military base, which it began to establish east of Deir Ezzor.
Iran’s move came at the same time it evacuated some of its military headquarters in Al-Bukamal city on the border with Iraq.
In the same context, the sources added that the military base is likely to be a point for managing and protecting the land crossing between Iraq and Syria, which is planned to be opened in the coming September.
It is noteworthy that Iran, along with the Assad’s forces, dominates the center of Deir Ezzor province, and pays special attention to the areas bordering Iraq, as they link its militias in Iraq with those in Syria.
