Activists from the city of Deir Ezzor said that the so-called “Madloul Al-Aziz”, one of the most important arms of the Assad regime and the Iranian-backed militias in Deir Ezzor, is in the city under the protection of a revolutionary military faction, some of whose members are related to him.
The news of “Al-Aziz” being in Deir Ezzor under the protection of a revolutionary military faction has angered the people of Deir Ezzor, due to his record of positions loyal to the Assad regime, and his history of changing colors with organizations and militias.
A special source from the Ahrar Al-Sharqiya faction, which is accused of covering up for “Madloul Al-Aziz”, told Deir Ezzor 24 network that Al-Aziz was with his cousin, who is a member of “Ahrar Al-Sharqiya”, about two weeks ago. He was subjected to an assassination attempt by one of their relatives in the same faction due to his thuggish positions and corruption cases in which he is involved. Still, he survived the bullets of the element and then fled to Damascus.
The source confirmed that “Al-Aziz” is not with the faction, and the faction wants him, and when they can arrest him, they will present him to the competent authorities. It is noteworthy that “Madlul Al-Aziz” is from the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, he joined Jabhat Al-Nusra when it first entered Syria, then pledged allegiance to ISIS and became one of its security personnel, and when the organization’s power was broken, he joined the SDF, then fled to areas controlled by the Assad regime in Deir Ezzor and became close to officers and officials, later becoming the Assad regime’s man in Deir Ezzor.
