As part of its efforts to control markets and protect citizens’ health, the Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Deir Ezzor intensified its inspection tours of various commercial activities in the city and its countryside.
The tours included a number of restaurants, sweets and white meat shops, and commercial stores. Price displays were inspected, and food products were verified for validity and expiration dates.
The campaigns destroyed quantities of food unfit for human consumption, in addition to issuing a food supply seizure against a butcher shop that was found to be selling spoiled meat.
The Directorate affirmed its continued intensification of inspections and the implementation of additional patrols to detect violations and protect consumers, emphasizing that food safety is a top priority.
