The fear of the collapsing buildings began to be a real nightmare for the people of Deir Ezzor, especially in the neighborhoods of Deir Ezzor city, that is controlled by Assad’s forces.
After two workers were killed and two others injured, as a result of the collapse of a five-storey building in “Fouad Cinema” Street, now, another building is crumbling in Al-Jbaila neighborhood near the electricity company and al-Hal market, where the residents of the area have complained that it is threatening their and their children’s lives because it is tall and collapsing, and might fall at any moment, as some parts of it have been falling down.
For their part, Assad regime’s service departments in Deir Ezzor didn’t do anything with regard to the issue of the collapsing buildings, and have ignored all the continuous complaints submitted by the residents.
It is indicated that Assad’s forces and the Iranian and Russian militias have taken control of Deir Ezzor in 2017, and since then, the collapsed buildings and rubble are still in the streets, with a deliberate neglect of services people need in Deir Ezzor city.
