Deir Ezzor 24 network obtained new details about the attack carried out by Daesh on the positions of the Assad’s forces and the supporting militias in the badiyah of Al-Mayadeen city in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside.
According to local sources, Daesh burned tyres and the dry grass in the badiyah, which pushed the Assad’s forces and the Iranian militias to go to the site, to investigate and find out the cause of the fire.
The sources added that Daesh elements ambushed the Assad’s forces in the area, where violent clashes erupted between the two sides, as a result of which about 20 were killed and 19 injured.
The dead included a field commander in Assad’s forces from al-Baloam neighborhood in Al-Mayadeen city east of Deir Ezzor in addition to a number of local elements.
The sources noted that Daesh seized military vehicles, weapons and ammunition from the forces it attacked in Al-Mayadeen city then withdrew from the area after the operation ended.
It is noteworthy that the Assad’s forces have recently been subjected to violent attacks from Daesh, especially in the badiyah of Al-Mayadeen where Daesh elements are heavily active.
