Today, Friday (28-06-2019), The United Nations organization thanked the significant contribution made by D24 network to the work of the International Commission of inquiry in Syria.
The United Nations organization thanked D24 network through an official letter from the United Nations for what the international Commission described as “the invaluable support to the Commission’s mandate and investigation work in Syria.”
The International Commission of inquiry said in the letter:
“Deir Ezzor 24’s through documentation work and information sharing has been critical to supporting the Commission’s investigations into some of the most horrific human rights violations and abuses perpetrated in north east Syria in 2018 and 2019.”
It is worth mentioning that D24 network has provided several pieces of evidence, that helped the international commission to reach accurate information about the developments and violations in Syria, especially in the eastern region.
The network provided the Committee with documentation and means of communication to obtain accurate information, that assisted the Commission in its work in Syria.
The International Commission of inquiry in Syria is one of the first commissions that were mandated by the United Nations to monitor violations, abuses in Syria. It was established in 2011.
The Executive manager of Deir Ezzor 24 network, Mr. Omar Abu Layla, expressed his sincere gratitude to the Commission, stressing that the full potential of the network will be at the disposal of the international institutions to reach justice and prosecute the criminals.
Abu Leyla pointed out that D24 network, which was founded in 2014, has greatly contributed to bring the hidden side of Deir Ezzor province to the world, and that nothing would be achieved without the efforts of the correspondents who are the eye of the world towards Deir Ezzor.
Mr. Omar also noted that D24 network will continue to work intensively with the international, regional and local institutions to monitor violations and provide evidence that will contribute to the detection of criminals, at the first of which is Bashar Al-Assad regime and extremist organizations.
D24 network confirmed that it will continue to convey the full picture of Deir Ezzor, and that it has made all efforts it can to convey the voice of the forgotten province to the world.
