Deir Ezzor locals have appealed to demining teams to start removing mines in the western desert of Deir Ezzor countryside, the eastern desert, and the outskirts of the seven villages from which Assad forces and Iranian- and Russian-backed militias were ousted, according to a reporter of the DeirEzzor24 network.
Our reporter stated that before Assad forces and militias were ousted from the seven villages, they had planted mines in several places and roads, which now pose risks and danger to the locals.
Since the fall of the Assad regime, dozens of civilian victims have fallen as a result of mine explosions in Deir Ezzor, including the towns of Al-Masrab, Sabikhan, Khasham, and Baqras. Many of them walked through minefields on the outskirts of the villages.
