The governor of Deir Ezzor Abdul-Majeed Al-Kawakibi handed over the rubble removal project in Deir Ezzor city to “Firass Al-Iraqiyeh” the leader of the National Defense militia in the province.
According to special sources for D24 network, that after an audit of the rubble size in Deir Ezzor in the first phase, it was estimated by about 120,000 cubic meters and the cost of removing it was identified by 4,200 Syrian pounds for 1 cubic meter, that is, the total cost is about 500 million.
And the aggregate amount would be paid in instalments, where 17.5 million SYP would be paid every time 550 trucks of rubble is carted, so that the cost for carting one truck of rubble will be 32000 SYP.
Not so long, a report was submitted by the governor and those with him, Fadi To’amah (mayor of municipality), Ziad Sl-Kazem and Firass Al-Iraqiyeh (The fictitious contractor), where the report included that 90% of the rubble were lifted, while only 20,000 cubic meters out of 120,000 cubic metres were lifted.
It is indicated that the governor of Deir Ezzor along with a group of brokers close to him are running networks of fraud and looting of funds, the latest of which was the theft of the petroleum products coming to the province.
