Three persons, two civilians and a member of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), were killed and more than a dozen injured today, Friday, 20-9-2019, after the Assad’s forces fired at a demonstration, Deir Ezzor 24 network correspondent reported.
Today, hundreds of demonstrators from several areas of Deir Ezzor countryside staged a demonstration under the title “the liberation Friday”, demanding the withdrawal of the Assad’s forces and the Iranian militias from the villages and towns they control east of the Euphrates, such as the towns of Khasham, Hatlah, Marrat, Al-Husseiniyah and Al-Salhiyah.
Our correspondent added that the demonstration started in the factories area and headed towards the checkpoints of the Assad forces in Al-Salhiyah town. The demonstrators were able to take over al-Saker station checkpoint at the northern entrance of Al-Salhiyah next to the factories are, after the Assad’s forces withdrew from it.
Deir Ezzor 24 network correspondent confirmed that the demonstrators were able to arrest a number of Assad’s forces elements, including a brigadier general, after encircling them at al-Saker station checkpoint. The Assad’s forces, in turn, arrested a number of demonstrators who approached the second checkpoint in Al-Salhiyah town.
The demonstrators raised slogans calling for the withdrawal of the Assad’s forces and the Iranian militias from the areas of eastern Euphrates, and in other slogans, they called on the international coalition to liberate the entire province of Deir Ezzor from the Assad’s forces and the Iranian militias.
It is indicated that the demonstrations came after some leaders of the Assad’s forces threatened to storm villages and towns in Deir Ezzor countryside.
It is noteworthy that the Assad’s forces and the Iranian militias control several villages and towns east of the Euphrates, taking them as centers from which they launch their operations, trying to penetrate in areas east of the Euphrates.
