A source told Deir Ezzor 24 Network that the Iranian Cultural Center and the Assad regime’s Awkaf Administration prepare to commemorate the Shiite Muharam month’ rituals in the city of Deir Ezzor.
The source added that Mukhtar al-Naqshabandi the manager of Awkaf in Deir Ezzor ordered employees to meet all what the Iranian Cultural Center needs to prepare celebrations at the attendance of Iranian and Assad regime’s figures in al-Awkaf building.
The tenth of Muharam in the Hijri Calendar marks the annual anniversary of al-Hussein’s killing, according to Shiite tenets. On Ashura Day, Shiites do predominantly sad rituals such as slapping, harming the body, and slogans calling for taking revenge against those who killed al-Hussein.
