Local sources revealed to Deir Ezzor 24 network that militias belonging to Iran and Assad’s forces have burned agricultural crops for farmers in Abu Khashap town northwest of Deir Ezzor.
In the details, the sources said that three fires broke out today in agricultural lands cultivated with barley crop in Abu Khashap town. The first one erupted at “Mahbash” site, devouring 50 dunums of barley, the second one broke out in agricultural land in “al-Jabla” site, burning 30 dunums of barley, and the third one erupted at “Qamaruddin” site, turning 20 dunums of barley to ashes.
The sources pointed out that Assad regime and Iranian militias stand behind these fires in retaliation against the people of Deir Ezzor, who opposed the regime.
In addition to the damage they caused, these fires also led to a state of fear and anxiety among farmers from the possibility of the recurrence of last year’s crop burning scenario, which caused heavy losses to Deir Ezzor farmers.
