Residents in various areas controlled by Assad forces in Deir Ezzor are suffering from the restrictions imposed by the Fourth Division checkpoints affiliated with Assad forces, according to what DeirEzzor24 Network monitored.
Our reporter said that the Fourth Division imposes fees and blackmails residents, under threat of arrest or confiscation of goods on pre-prepared charges.
He added that the Fourth Division checkpoint located in the Al-Mareiyyah area on the Deir Ezzor-Al-Mayadeen road east of Deir Ezzor stopped, two days ago, a number of commercial trucks coming from Damascus to the city of Deir Ezzor and from there to the areas of the Assad regime in the eastern countryside, and the checkpoint personnel prevented the passage of those trucks, and seized them, and imposed fees on the trucks, amounting to 800 thousand Syrian pounds for each truck, to allow them to pass after that, and they also stole large quantities of goods, including food and heating supplies.
It is worth noting that these practices of the Fourth Division lead to an increase in the prices of materials and goods in Deir Ezzor, due to the addition of the value of these fees to the price of goods by merchants.
