Dozens of families of detainees have gathered in the vicinity of Al-Aktan Prison since yesterday, waiting for their children to be released from prison.
Families from the governorates of Deir Ezzor, the eastern countryside of Aleppo, Al-Hasakah, and Raqqa came to the prison vicinity, in a remarkable gathering to check on the fate of their children, and to demand their speedy release, following the entry of the Syrian Internal Security Forces and the army into the prison.
The security forces, in cooperation with the Syrian Ministry of Justice, began preparations to release the detainees in batches, after studying their files and taking the necessary legal measures.
Al-Aktan prison holds detainees on various charges, including dealing with the Syrian government, or with parties hostile to the SDF, in addition to members of ISIS, and others who participated in demonstrations against the SDF in Raqqa and the Deir Ezzor countryside.
