A friendly football match was held yesterday between Al-Mayadeen Sports Club and Al-Futowa Al-Hur Club on the grounds of Deir Ezzor Municipal Stadium, with an official presence represented by the Deputy Governor of Deir Ezzor and several officials, according to a reporter of DeirEzzor24 Network.
Our reporter said that the match came as part of the victory celebration, and to support the sports sector and shed light on it in Deir Ezzor Governorate, as Al-Mayadeen Club came from northern Syria to face Al-Futowa Club on the grounds of Deir Ezzor Stadium, in a match that ended in a draw between the two teams.
He added that fans from the youth and children category attended the match, which was the first match to be held in Deir Ezzor Stadium after the fall of the former regime.
During the match, the administrations of Al-Mayadeen Club and Al-Futowa Club honored the families of the martyrs of the Syrian revolution from the sons of Deir Ezzor who lost their lives in the early stages of the Syrian revolution and stood for a minute of silence for their souls.
During the match, a group of young men and women from the sons of Deir Ezzor City and students of Al-Furat University distributed flags of the Syrian Revolution to the fans.
This match, which ended in a goalless draw, comes within the framework of reviving the sports sector in Deir Ezzor, and re-starting its wheel after it had stopped for several years due to the collapse of the sports sector in the governorate during the era of the defunct Assad regime.
