A source told Deir Ezzor 24 network about a smuggling group working for the military security branch in Deir Ezzor under the leadership of Fadi Al-Affis
According to the source, “Al-Affis” group smuggles livestock (sheep and goats) from the village of Al-Jiaa, which is under the control of the SDF, to the town of Al-Husseiniyah, which is under the control of Assad’s forces, through special safe corridors in the agricultural lands located between the two areas. The group also smuggles grains to Al-Jiaa in the western Deir Ezzor countryside.
The source said that “Al-Affis” buys wheat at about 900 Syrian pounds per kilo, while it is sold at 1400 SYP in the SDF areas. As for livestock, its prices in Assad regime-controlled areas are nearly 100,000 SYP more expensive compared to its prices in the areas controlled by the SDF in Deir Ezzor.
Al-Affis is from Al-Husseiniyah town in the western Deir Ezzor countryside. He was a security member of Daesh. Later, he joined Al-Baqir brigade after signing settlement papers with the Iranians in late 2017, then he led a group belonging to the military security branch in the area. He also has river ferries in the area east of al-Siyasiyah bridge.
