D24 network received information that civilians were injured this afternoon, Wednesday 19-6-2019, in Ash-Shahil city east of Deir Ezzor, as a result of clashes between an SDF military patrol and smugglers on the bank of the Euphrates River in the city.
In detail, D24 network correspondent said that a military force of the SDF suddenly raided the river crossings in Ash-Shahil city, where the oil smugglers smuggle oil derivatives to the Assad’s forces-held areas on the southern bank of the Euphrates River.
According to our correspondent, some of the smugglers have resisted the patrol of the SDF on al-Khazeem river crossing on the Euphrates bank, which is located between residential houses, which led to a clash with light weapons between the smugglers and the SDF, which led to the wounding of some workers who were working near the crossing, and the bullets also hit the homes of civilian houses, resulting in the injuring of a woman with a stray bullet while she was inside her home.
The SDF brought reinforcements to the area, and are still surrounding al-Khazeem crossing area amid a state of alert.
