The Fourth Division members continue to harass cigarette stall owners and tobacco merchants in Deir Ezzor, as it intensified its patrols targeting cigarette stalls and warehouses, with the aim of harassing tobacco merchants, profiting from them, and monopolizing tobacco trade.
The prices of cigarettes and “Muʽassel” increased significantly by 2000 Syrian pounds per carton, while the “smuggled tobacco ” is unavailable in the city’s markets.
Cigarette and Mu’assel trade is one of the most profitable trades as there is a big demand on it. And because of this, the Fourth Division members seek to monopolize it, especially that they are involved in graft and stealing others’ trades.
