Dozens of shops have recently resumed operations on Al-Takaya Street in the city of Deir Ezzor, after their owners carried out restoration and reconstruction work over the past few months, according to what was reported by the DeirEzzor24 network.
Our correspondent said that the shops reopened on the street vary between food warehouses, household goods stores, small restaurants, and shops for food supplies and motorcycle repairs.
Haitham Al-Hajj, the owner of one of the shops, confirmed that the rise in rent prices in areas such as Al-Qusour neighborhood, Cinema Fouad, and recently in the “Six Minus a Quarter” market, has prompted many traders to open or restore their shops on Al-Takaya Street in Deir Ezzor.
It is noteworthy that the reconstruction and restoration movement has also included some residential houses whose owners have recently returned to live in them, stressing the need for the municipality and technical services to pay greater attention to this street by improving infrastructure and services, in order to encourage more residents and shop owners to return.
