The General Institution for Building and Construction has begun preparing a technical study to evaluate the safety of the main load base of Al-Rashid Bridge, south of the city of Raqqa.

The Foundation’s teams began excavation work in the vicinity of the base, in addition to sucking water from the surrounding area, with the aim of fully uncovering the base in preparation for its restoration in accordance with approved technical standards.

These measures come within the framework of completing the reconstruction of the bridge, which is considered one of the largest bridges of the Euphrates River in general, and one of the most prominent bridges in the city of Raqqa, as it connects the banks of Al-Shamiya and Al-Jazira.

During the next phase, construction work is scheduled to be carried out, including the construction of cement blocks and support columns, as part of the plan to restore the bridge that was bombed over the past years.
