Before winter starts.. Accelerating maintenance work on Al-Suwaida Bridge on Raqqa – Deir Ezzor road

The General Corporation for Road Transport in Raqqa continues maintenance work on the Al-Suwaida Bridge, located on the Raqqa – Maadan – Deir Ezzor  road, near the city of Maadan, in cooperation with the Syrian Corporation for Building and Construction, as part of efforts aimed at enhancing traffic safety and ensuring the continuity of traffic on the road.

The bridge is 30 metres long and 12 metres wide, and is a box bridge consisting of eight gates. The bridge floor molding work has been completed, while the necessary preparations for molding the walls continue, in parallel with intensifying the pace of work to complete the maintenance stages.

According to the progress of work, the project’s completion rate has reached 30%, and work is underway to accelerate implementation with the aim of completing maintenance work and reopening the road before rain and floods occur, which will contribute to reducing potential risks and ensuring the safety of road users.

These works fall within Contract No. 90 of 2026, which includes implementing comprehensive maintenance works for the Raqqa – Maadan – Deir Ezzor road, and maintaining the bridges located on it, in a way that enhances the readiness of the road infrastructure and maintains the smooth flow of traffic.
