DeirEzzor24 exclusive report:
Recently, an insect called “Sona” has spread to wheat crops in the town of Tabiya Shamiya in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, according to the correspondent of DeirEzzor24 Network.
He said that the spread of this insect came as a result of high humidity and warm weather, and was accompanied by demands from farmers to the Directorate of Agriculture in areas controlled by the Assad regime to provide insecticides to protect crops.
Agricultural crops in Deir Ezzor have suffered in the past years from drought and lack of irrigation water, and the current season is heavy rain compared to previous seasons.
