DeirEzzor24 exclusive report:
This season, cotton crops in Deir Ezzor are witnessing a large spread of infection, in a cultivated area estimated at 4950 hectares, according to the correspondent of Deir Ezzor 24 network.
Our correspondent said that the causes of infection in crops are due to high humidity and high temperatures, and the cotton species (thistle, carnation, American and autumnal crowd) were infected, in addition to the droppings that included flowers and bells.
He added that the crop injury came despite the farmers spraying Dimethoate pesticides, which cost 50,000 Syrian pounds and are sufficient for an area of one hectare. However, the infection is still widespread in crops due to the ineffectiveness of the pesticides described as corrupt.
The damage to the cotton crop in Deir Ezzor, for this season, coincides with the poor services and the lack of support provided to farmers by the Assad government.
