DeirEzzor24 network learned, from private sources, of the arrival of a new Iranian commander to Deir Ezzor, who was described as “high-ranking.”
According to the source, the commander arrived in Deir Ezzor following the recent targeting of Iranian sites in the province by the international coalition and the US army.
He added that the the commander is named “Hajj Ali Akbar” and he is one of the prominent Iranian officers. He has moved in a very secret manner, during the past few days between the cities of Al-Mayadin and Al-Bukamal in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.
It is noteworthy that Iran sends from time to time Iranian military advisors to Syria and Deir Ezzor in particular, to follow up and assess the situation of its militias in the region.
