A Heavy bloody day passed in Deir Ezzor, particularly the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF.)
On Monday, January 11, 2021, shooters stormed the house of a prominent dignitary of the al-Akidat Tribe named Hajj Talyoosh in the village of al-Hawayej, eastern Deir Ezzor. The shooters killed Talyoosh, his son, and a guest.
Another assassination followed, as masked shooters killed a young man in the town of Ash-Shaheil, eastern Deir Ezzor. The victim is from the town of Abu Hardoob.
On the same day, masked shooters assassinated Ahmad al-Olwan Abu Saleh, who is a former Free Syrian Army (FSA) commander in Deir Ezzor, his son Saleh, and nephew in the city of al-Busaira, eastern Deir Ezzor.
Seven people were the victims of three similar crimes in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside. The shooters remain unknown, but they were completely free and comfortable conducting the assassinations, amidst blatant security malfunction in the area.
