Ghassan al-Yousef, the head of Deir Ezzor civil council, along with a number of administrators, met with a delegation of dignitaries and people of Ash-Shahil town eastern Deir Ezzor at the request of the town’s dignitaries.
A number of commanders of the SDF-linked Deir Ezzor Military Council attended the meeting.
The meeting addressed many issues related to the region’s security, including the Syrian democratic forces (SDF) recent security campaigns.
The delegation stressed that the people stand with the military forces to reach stability in the region. In return, the military and administrative leadership of Deir Ezzor made many demands, most importantly the end of arbitrary raids and arrests, that are not based on evidence.
Recently, many campaigns have been carried out depending on malicious reports, which led to the arrest of innocent people.
The delegation also called for the release of civilian detainees who have not been proven guilty. The dignitaries pledged to help the security and military forces arrest convicted criminals to ensure the stability and security of the region.
The dignitaries of Ash-Shahil town submitted a request to the military and civilian leadership in Deir Ezzor to discuss the arbitrary arrests carried out recently by the SDF in Ash-Shahil town.
