All the bakery ovens in Al-Joura, Al-Qusour and Al-Muwadafine neighborhoods of Deir Ezzor, which are under the Assad-regime control, have been out of commission for the second day in a row, after Assad forces did not supply them with fuel oil under the pretext that, “it is presently unavailable.”
According to local sources in Assad-regime held areas, Assad forces have indicated that they will supply the ovens with fuel oil until Tuesday. It should be pointed out that flour is almost unavailable at the markets in besieged Deir Ezzor, and Assad forces have prevented anyone from selling flour to civilians who want to bake bread in their homes.
In other news, Al-Jaz oven in Al-Joura, which is the only oven supplied with fuel oil by Assad forces, is currently used by the regime to secure bread solely for its affiliated militias. Civilians who gather in mass at the oven in order to obtain bread are denied their right and always forced out of it by Assad forces.
