Although Daesh has been driven out of most villages and towns in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, civilians are still facing the danger of the landmines which the organization planted in the area before retreating. Most civilians who recently returned to their homes in the towns of Abu Hamam, Kashkiyah and Granij were either killed and wounded in explosion of mines. About 15 civilians were killed.
The organization booby-trapped everything, including houses, commercial shops, mosques, house furniture and pones.
