Deir Ezzor 24 network manager, Mr. Omar Abu Layla, met with the US Deputy Assistant Secretary for Levant affairs and special envoy for Syria Joel Rayburn, yesterday, Wednesday 24.07.2019 in Germany.
The meeting lasted for more than two and a half hours, during which they discussed many issues and matters related to Deir Ezzor governorate, including the real danger posed by the Iranian presence, Daesh, providing services to the region, reconstruction, and supporting all aspects of the province’s economy.
Mr. Rayburn stressed the importance of eradicating Daesh entirely from the region and eliminating even the remnants of its ideas and the effects it has left in the region. He also stressed that the stability of the region is very important for the United States of America in the current and the next stage.
As for the Iranian presence in the province, he stressed that the United States of America will not allow this entity to exist and is working to remove it from all of Syria not just from Deir Ezzor.
The special envoy to Syria stressed that Deir Ezzor should have a strong economy that serves its people, especially that it has the necessary qualifications for this economy. He stressed that it is important for everyone to work for the province, and that the United States and its international partners are committed to supporting the region, especially after eliminating Daesh.
Ambassador James Jeffrey joined the meeting for a short time, and stressed the importance of these meetings and communicating closely, in addition to activating all the initiatives that serve the region and help local population build their own lives and future as they dream.
