The Health Directorate in Al-Hasakah Governorate announced the launch of a free vaccination campaign to protect children from measles, rubella, and polio, starting Sunday, August 23, 2026, for a period of ten days.
The campaign targets children from one day to five years old, and includes fixed health centers and mobile teams in the city of Qamishli and its countryside, in addition to the Al-Shaddadi area and its countryside.
The Health Directorate called on parents to take their children to the nearest health center or mobile team to benefit from the vaccines available for free, stressing the safety and effectiveness of the vaccines.
The Directorate explained that bringing a health card to the child is recommended when available, but its absence does not prevent the child from receiving the vaccine. The Directorate also confirmed that a mild cold or a slight rise in temperature does not prevent receiving the dose.
The campaign is being implemented in cooperation with the World Health Organization and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), with the aim of strengthening child protection and limiting the spread of vaccine-targeted diseases in the governorate.
