Since dawn today, the Internal Security Forces have closed the entrances to the city of Hasakah, as part of completing the work of removing and painting pictures of the leader of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, Abdullah Ojalan, in addition to removing flags and symbols associated with the SDF and the Autonomous Administration from a number of sites in the city.
The closure measures came after the workshops working to remove these symbols were subjected to harassment and hostile acts by members of the Revolutionary Youth, who refused to remove pictures of Ojalan and SDF flags, which prompted the authorities to tighten security measures and limit traffic around the work sites.
The closure measures included Al-Sabbagh and railway entrances, while the work of removing and painting the symbols and images continued.
In a related context, the SDF demolished the model bearing the name Al-Hasakah, located on Al-Sabbagh roundabout, north of the city, after removing the Kurdistan Workers’ Party flag from the site.
