Abu Ali Askar is an important figure far from the media and is classified as one of the first influential names in Deir Ezzor province.
In his forties, he is from the “Al-Mashhour” clan affiliated with the “Al-Baqqara” tribe and a resident of Raqqa Governorate. He is responsible for managing the Syrian-Iraqi crossing as a contractor who secures the unusual requirements of the Assad regime, such as military and prohibited items from the state of Iraq, through Iraqi contractors who share the work with him.
“Al-Askar” manages the construction of the Al-Hari town crossing and a huge square where transport trucks are stationed, in addition to securing and facilitating the travel of Shiite pilgrims between the two countries.
“Abu Ali” is linked to the representative “Madlul Al-Aziz” through joint work agreements supervised by his brother who is with “Al-Aziz” in Deir Ezzor Governorate, in addition to coordinating with the security of the Fourth Division to demarcate commercial materials between the two countries.
Al-Askar is known to be cross-eyed and is described as a skilled man in Raqqa, and his word is influential over all Deir Ezzor officials.
