The US Central Command announced responsibility for targeting 9 targets in two locations linked to Iranian militias in Syria, according to a written statement.
The statement said that these strikes came in response to attacks on American personnel in Syria during the past 24 hours.
It added in its statement that these strikes will weaken the ability of Iranian-backed groups to plan and launch future attacks on US and coalition forces in the region.
It is worth noting that two locations of Iranian-backed militias in Al-Mayadeen, east of Deir Ezzor, were subjected to airstrikes yesterday, Monday, resulting in injuries among the militias and destruction at the two locations.
