Yesterday, Tuesday (May 19th, 2020), fires devoured thousands of hectares of agricultural land in several areas of Abu Khashap town northwest of Deir Ezzor, according to Deir Ezzor 24 network correspondent.
In the details, our correspondent said that fires, may be set intentionally by someone, destroyed thousands of hectares in Abu Khashap; 6,000 dunums of agricultural land in Kheneizir area, 2,000 dunums in Zein al-Mabraj area, 2,000 dunums belonging to Ahmed Al-Atallah, and a house with a sum of money inside in Kheneizir villages, as well as other lands in Abu Fas village, all of them were burned.
According to local sources, the wind led to the spread of fires, in the absence of all means used to put out fire, except for primitive methods that depend on the hands of the people.
It is indicated that the series of fires began a few days ago in the northern Deir Ezzor countryside, which led to a state of fear among the farmers that their crops and efforts might be burned like the hundreds of thousands of hectares of agricultural lands, which were burned last night.
