DeirEzzor24 excusive report

The city of Al-Bukamal is the first stop for the goods of the State of Iraq, as Iranian-backed militia commanders transport construction materials and smoke from Al-Bukamal area to the city of Deir Ezzor.

Material transfers are carried out to take advantage of the large price difference that goes to the security and fourth checkpoints, as the price of a bag of cement in Al-Bukamal is 70 thousand Syrian pounds and is sold in the city of Deir Ezzor for 120 thousand, with a profit difference of approximately 50 thousand Syrian pounds per bag, and 10 million Syrian pounds per ton, in addition. For smuggled smoke, the profit is approximately 10,000 liras for one pack of all types of smoke.

According to what the DeirEzzor24 network monitored, transportation is carried out in Inter trucks, while smoke is transported in pickup trucks, in addition to transporting electrical materials, industrial equipment, and clothing. These profits go to commanders and pilgrims who grant special military missions to the Revolutionary Guard militia for the vehicle’s load.

Smuggling of all kinds is one of the most important sources of money for Iranian-backed militia leaders in Deir Ezzor, or the so-called ‘Hajjs’, and includes the smuggling of livestock, wheat, food and electrical materials, and primarily narcotic drugs and hashish.
