The murderer who slaughtered a woman a few days ago in Hajin city in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside was arrested in the city yesterday, local sources told Deir Ezzor 24 network.
The Syrian democratic forces said on its identifiers on social media that the Internal Security Forces of the SDF have arrested “Abdul Ghafoor Mohammed Hussein al-Awad” on charges of murder.
According to the media of the SDF, the accused has confessed to killing Raja al-Zayed’s wife, Hanaa al-Dakhel, using a kitchen knife.
The SDF posted the accused’s confessions. He said that he entered the victim’s house after midnight for the purpose of stealing, as he knew that there was a sum of money in the house. The woman’s husband was outside the house as he works as a night watchman. After entering the house, the murderer began searching for money, and when he entered the victim’s bedroom, she saw him, so he slaughtered her with a kitchen knife he was carrying.
Abdul Ghafoor al-Awad is now in prison awaiting sentence.
It is worth mentioning that Deir Ezzor countryside east of the Euphrates has witnessed many crimes, some were carried out by cells of Daesh, the Iranian militias and Assad regime, and others were perpetrated by thieves and bandits from the region.
