According to a DeirEzzor24 reporter, telecommunications companies (Syriatel and MTN) are preparing to begin installing coverage towers to provide communications and internet services on the Deir Ezzor-Damascus road this week, at the direction of the Ministry of Communications.
This step aims to cover all major roads with communications services in general, and the road passing through the Syrian Badia in particular.
Muhannad Al-Abdullah, a member of the technical staff at MTN, told DeirEzzor24 that the new towers will be installed along the administrative borders of Deir ez-Zor Governorate to fully supply the road.
He added that the area between Deir Ezzor and the Sukhnah area is most in need of coverage, and three towers will be installed to cover it.
A meeting was held yesterday between the Governor of Deir Ezzor, Mr. Ghassan Al-Sayed Ahmed, and the Minister of Communications, Dr. Abdul Salam Heikal, to improve the communications and internet situation in the governorate.
The minister confirmed that temporary solutions will be found to address the network and communications outages, in addition to developing a comprehensive plan to improve communications in Deir Ezzor Governorate.
DeirEzzor24 Network had previously reported on the suffering of drivers and travelers from network outages in the area extending from Al-Sukhnah to the entrance to Deir Ezzor city on the aforesaid road.
