The Revolutionary Guard militia in Al-Mayadeen city sent a strongly worded message to the Leadership of the Assad’s forces in Deir Ezzor province, asking them to troubling the Guard elements in the province.
An informed source confirmed to Deir Ezzor 24 network that the message came after the Assad’s forces had been clamping down on the elements who defected from the Assad’s forces and the National Defense and joined the Revolutionary Guard militia in Deir Ezzor.
The source noted that Assad’s forces tried to arrest the officer responsible for screening the Revolutionary Guard elements at one of their checkpoints located on Al-Mayadeen-Al-Bukamal road, and that they failed, which led to tension between the two sides in the region.
The message carried a clear threat of military intervention if the Assad’s intelligence continued to trouble the Syrian elements who joined the Revolutionary Guard militia.
It is worth mentioning that dozens of elements have defected from the National Defence and joined the Revolutionary Guard militia in al-Mayadeen because of the economic crisis ravaging the national defence and the consequent cut in salaries.
