DeirEzzor24 exclusive report:
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard militia prevented farmers from planting rain-fed wheat, or what is known locally as “adhi,” in the Al-Mayadeen and Al-Ashara deserts, east of Deir Ezzor, according to what a DeirEzzor24 network correspondent reported.
Our correspondent said that the reason the militia prevented farmers is that this area is considered a military zone.
Farmers were planting hundreds of dunums of wheat in the desert, such as Al-Bayda, Uwaiba, Khudrami, and other areas of the desert.
The Iranian militias allowed a very limited number of their local members to cultivate some dunams, on the condition that the proceeds of that cultivation be shared with them.
