The Iranian Revolutionary Guard militia has established a new prison in Al-Bukamal city east of Deir Ezzor, Deir Ezzor 24 Network correspondent said.
According to the correspondent, the new prison is in the city’s market, which is known as (al-Fayhaa) market, next to the electricity street. The prison will be dedicated for the militia elements who break the laws and commit crimes.
Previously, the Iranian militias had two prisons, one was near Al-Hajjanah roundabout next to Aisha Hospital, and the other was behind the National Hospital in Al-Bukamal, these prisons, which held civilians and Iraqi prisoners, were run by the Iraqi Hezbollah militia.
A source told Deir Ezzor 24 network, “In the past, there was coordination between the Iranian militias and Assad regime with regard to prisoners, where the militias used to handed over the prisoners they arrest to Assad regime after interrogating them,” adding: “but now all of that has changed, so Assad regime can no longer take any prisoner from the Iranian militias after the recent differences in Al-Mayadeen and Al-Bukamal between Assad regime and Russian forces on the one hand and Iranian militias on the other.
It is worth mentioning that the areas of Deir Ezzor west of the Euphrates have recently witnessed conflicts between the Iranian proxy militias and Assad’s forces pushed by the Russian forces, as the Russians have been trying to expand their control in the region and attract more volunteers to fight in Libya.
