The international coalition have dropped leaflets to warn civilians of incoming air strikes on the bridges and Daesh headquarters in Al-Mayadin, Deir Ezzor province.

The coalition have dropped leaflets over the city of Al-Mayadin, Deir Ezzor’s eastern countryside, urging civilians not to approach the bridges and Daesh headquarters in the city and its surroundings ahead of incoming air strikes on the region.

The leaflets read “The incoming IC air strikes will destroy the bridges in this area ( Al-Mayadin). Do not approach the bridges and the roads which lead to them.”

“IC do not want to hurt civilians. For your own safety, you should leave the bridges and the roads leading to them.”

Over the past two years, IC have targeted multiple bridges in the Euphrates River in Deir Ezzor province, which has paralyzed the movement of transport between the two banks of the river (Al-Jazzera and Al-Shamiyah). As an alternative, civilians have used small boats to transport people and vehicles between the two banks.
