The administration of the Sad camp for internally displaced persons imposes taxes on displaced families willing to leave and return to their homes in Der Ezzor
The recent intensity of the military operations and airstrikes in Deir Ezzor province has resulted in an increase in the displacement of civilians towards the SDF-held areas in southern Al-Hasakah, where the displaced are facing deplorable living conditions at Al-Sad camp for internally displaced persons.
In light of this, dozens of displaced families have begun returning to their villages in Deir Ezzor after the DEMC and the SDF liberated them from Daesh. However, the administration of the camp has imposed a tax of 5000 SYP on every displaced willing to return to his home in Deir Ezzor. The batches of displaced families willing to return are transported via SDF-run buses because the administration prevents the displaced from using their vehicles to transport their loved ones.
